What I plan to do with the Fifth Floor of My college...

I plan to hold a Music Festival on the 5^th Floor.

22 out of the 25 rooms on the floor will represent different genres of music.

Each person entering the floor will be asked his or her preference in music by a team of highly trained professionals who will try and understand the person’s orientation and guide them to the respective room of music.

Every room will be given an ambience of a particular genre reflecting the origin and the culture of each of them.

Eg. An Opera Room will have the theatrical settings as the backdrop as this is one of the places Opera has thrived in.

The room will have musical instruments displayed which can also be played by the visitors. This again will be only of the particular genre of the room.

Eg. Saxophones will be available only in the Jazz room and not in the Hindustani Classical room.

A collection of the music of the particular genre will be available in each room and a display of pictures, album art work, etc of all the greatest artists in that genre will be showcased and available for purchase.

There will also be games in each and every room…ranging from Trivia about Artists, Albums and Songs to  games in which you can hear the song and guess the name of the artist or guess the album will be available.

A Karaoke Machine will also be provided in each room with the room’s genre playing in it. The people can try their hand at Karaoke if they please.

The instruments will also be available to play…So if they wish they can all sit together and form their own music while over there….One room can be divided into more number of smaller rooms and will be utilized to give people privacy if they wish to jam up or compose something while at the festival.

The different Genre to be showcased in the rooms are as follows:

17. Death Metal and Black Metal
18. Disco
19. Hollywood Movie Musicals
20. Indian Folk
21. Opera
22. Religious and Devotional

The terrace area on the floor in the right hand side will have live performances by well known artists of different genre. 

Two of the rooms will be given to the stores who sell musical instruments..Eg . Futardo’s or Bhargava’s where they can put up their stalls and promote their products. People coming to the festival will find it easier to make a decision as to what to purchase after experiencing all the different styles of music.

The last room will have competitions for people interested like Lyrics writing or “Concept of an Album” contest as also people will be able to leave their Demo tapes which we can forward to some well known musicians in the industry.

There will be a system of “Sing Points” on the floor which will increase every time you participate in an events.

Near the exit, there will be a provision to encash the Sing Points where the person will either receive an autographed instrument or accessory from a personality of their favorite genre.

Overall it is meant to be a music paradise for every person who walks in irrelevant of what kind of music they are fond of. At the end of the whole tour, they should leave the floor with music in their hearts and a smile on their face.

If given an opportunity to make a prototype…more features can be added to the Music Festival.
